Texas sharpshooter
WebJun 15, 2024 · The Texas sharpshooter fallacy is an informal fallacy which is committed when differences in data are ignored, but similarities are overemphasized. From this reasoning, a false conclusion is inferred. I find this weird, because the story, and thus the naming, does not fit with the description, but instead with the fallacy that I described.
