I got it done from the local garage parts and all for 1 hours labour + cost of the new tank and coolant which was same price as me buying it from ebay or a parts site for a new one. I just didn't want to do the coolant change hence going to a garage to do it. F. WebOct 25, 2011 · balchy Member. When the original heating system was installed some floorboards would have been lifted to accomodate the pipe runs. Hopefully these boards would have been screwed back down, making their removal a doddle. If they wheir nailed down then they should still be easy to remove. Signs of a leak are white scaly residue …

If you intend keeping the car for a length of time and want the normally reliable Passat to remain reliable, then find the cause as it will eventually get worse. I think radwell plus claims to seal leaks from the headgasket and engine block which is a bit dubious, but if your leak is just from the radiator then use some radweld or barrs, the numerous times i've used the stuff I have to say its always done the job of fixing small leaks and subsequent coolant system ...
