Webb24 sep. 2006 · I developed hives after pregnancy so had to regularly take Piriton on prescription 'chlorophenamine'. It's not known to have any effects but hasn't been tested for use during breastfeeding. It's generally prescribed as it has been around for the longest time and therefore assumed to be ok. WebbWhilst many mothers prefer to take as few medicines as possible whilst they are breastfeeding, hayfever can make life particularly unpleasant during the summer months if left untreated. It is not necessary to stay indoors or suffer because you are breastfeeding if medication helps.
