It has a center block inside it, so it's a bit heavier, and has a bit more focused and modern sound. I haven't measured the two side by side, but the Epi body seems slightly bigger I think? The Hofner is hollow, lighter, and has more of that acoustic kind of resonance to it.

I played a Hofner BB for weeks every day until I felt comfortable with the results. It was a great learning process. Then I pulled out my P and was amazed at the ease I experienced.
